In fact, most people use this drug because it does not show up in the regular drug tests that companies and schools employ.
Synthetic marijuana is very commonly available these days and it is often sold as an herbal incense product, making it seem very innocuous. It is also known as ‘legal bud’ or ‘fake weed’. These products have become available thanks to the development of synthetic cannbinoids in laboratories. These products mimic the look and effect of marijuana to some extent. People who use them experience a high that is pretty similar to the one that weed gives. However it is not as long lasting. People who have used them also complain that there are very harsh on the throat and lungs than authentic marijuana.
The cannabinoids contained in fake weed were not on the list of controlled substances for a long time, thanks to which people could safely use it without the risk if failing a drug test. The most common cannabinoids in use are CP 47,497 and JWH-018. Others are JWH-073, JWH-200 and cannabicyclohexanol. These five substances have now been added to the list of controlled substances and their use has become illegal in the United States.
Fake weed is actively marketed amongst teenagers and other young people, causing parents to have a lot to worry about. There are now drug tests available in the market that can detect the use of synthetic marijuana. The demand for these tests is growing in proportion to the increasing popularity of this drug. However, these tests are different from the ones that are commonly used and they cost a lot more at the present. The fact that routine drug tests do not pick up the use of synthetic marijuana makes it a cause for concern since people use it believing that they will not get caught. It is only a matter of time before these drugs get routinely tested for since they are creating quite a few problems both at home and the work place.
